Ange Postecoglou to axe Dejan Kulusevski – Tottenham predicted XI v Ipswich Town

Ange Postecoglou could axe Dejan Kulusevski when Tottenham take on Ipswich Town on Saturday.

Spurs will travel to Portman Road on 22 February looking for a third consecutive Premier League win.

Postecoglou’s side beat Manchester United 1-0 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday (16 February) to make it back-to-back wins in the Premier League.

However, not every player was at their best in North London. Therefore, Postecoglou could look to make some changes as he seeks to climb the Premier League and lift some of the pressure off his shoulders.

Guglielmo Vicario will expect to keep his place between the sticks after his fantastic performance against Manchester United last time out.

Supporters have called for Vicario to replace Son Heung-min as captain after the Itallian’s passionate performance against the Red Devils, in which he made six saves and completed 92 per cent of his passes [Sofascore].

Ben Davies and Kevin Danso will likely keep their places at centre-back after Spurs kept a clean sheet against Ruben Amorim’s side. Davies won four of his six aerial duels while Danso won 100 per cent of his ground duels and made six clearances.

Pedro Porro could be offered a much-needed rest, which would allow Djed Spence to play in his natural position at right-back. Spence was named Man of the Match against United as he won seven of his eight ground duels and succeeded with three of his four dribble attempts.

Destiny Udogie was an unused substitute last time out and could return at left-back. In midfield, Postecoglou is likely to once again start James Maddison, Rodrigo Bentancur and Lucas Bergvall.

Maddison silenced his critics against United, scoring the winning goal, while also completing 86 per cent of his passes, with one of those key.

Ange Postecoglou to axe Dejan Kulusevski for Tottenham v Ipswich

Dejan Kulusevski struggled against United, succeeding with just one of his seven attempted dribbles and winning just two of his 14 ground duels, while zero per cent of his crosses into the box were accurate.

As a result, he could be replaced by Brennan Johnson, who returned from injury off the bench against United. However, this would be a slight risk considering Kulusevski’s record this season for Spurs.

Meanwhile, Mathys Tel is likely to keep his place through the middle, while Son Heung-min could once again start on the left.
