Ange Postecoglou drops Radu Drăgușin injury update ahead of Tottenham v Wolves

Ange Postecoglou has provided an update on the fitness of Tottenham defender Radu Drăgușin.

Postecoglou has seen the odds of Daniel Levy sacking him slashed after the 1-0 Premier League defeat to Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on Thursday [26 December].

Therefore, the 59-year-old will be desperate to avoid three consecutive league losses when Wolves visit the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday [29 December], with Joe Hart sharing a bit of insight as to what might be going on behind the scenes in North London.

However, with the treatment room at Hotspur Way only getting busier, Spurs could struggle against an in-form Wolves side who have won both of their matches since Vitor Pereira took over from Gary O’Neil.

Drăgușin became the latest defender to pick up an injury in the defeat to Forest, with all four of Spurs’ senior centre-back options now potentially unavailable.

And Postecoglou has shared an update on the 22-year-old ahead of the clash with Wolves, telling the press [via Football London, 27 December], “A bit early to tell. He injured his ankle last night and felt like he couldn’t continue. We’ll have to wait and see.”

Radu Drăgușin to miss out for Tottenham against Wolves?

Considering the quick turnaround between Thursday and Sunday, and Postecoglou’s lack of optimism, there is a good chance Drăgușin misses out against Wolves.

He wasn’t at his best against Forest, losing both of his ground duels while just two of his seven long balls were accurate (Sofascore).

However, he did have some good moments, completing 86 per cent of his passes, with one of those key, winning three of his four aerial duels, making two interceptions and blocking one shot.

And after a worrying update on Ben Davies, Postecoglou needs Drăgușin now more than ever.

If the defender doesn’t feature against Wolves, there is a good chance Spurs lose that match, which could be the final nail in the coffin for Postecoglu.

In other Tottenham news, Massimiliano Allegri could be ready to turn the tide in North London as pressure on Postecoglou increases.
