Alan Shearer blown away by ‘stunning’ Tottenham star Guglielmo Vicario after what he did v Nottingham Forest
Tottenham made it back-to-back Premier League wins with a 2-0 victory away to Nottingham Forest on Friday (15 December).
Ange Postecoglou’s men had hammered Newcastle United 4-1 in the previous game and used that confidence to grind out three more points at the City Ground.
Attackers Richarlison and Dejan Kulusevski got the goals, although the visitors did suffer a blow thanks to Yves Bissouma’s red card.
Aside from that red card, it was a professional display from the visitors on a tough place to go, with goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario certainly playing his part.
It was definitely not his busiest 90 minutes in a Tottenham shirt, with the Italian facing just one shot. He did, however, save it to secure a 100% save success rate [Sky Sports, 16 December].
As per Sofascore, Vicario also recorded two punches, which is perhaps what Alan Shearer was largely referring to when naming the goalkeeper in his Premier League Team of the Week.

Had Forest been more clinical in the final third, Vicario would have been in for a very different night, but he won’t care one bit as he secured his fifth clean sheet of the campaign.
