Maite Oroz shines for Tottenham Women despite defeat v Manchester United Women
Maite Oroz impressed for Tottenham Women despite the North London side losing to Manchester United Women on Sunday.
Robert Vilahamn’s side failed to make it three consecutive Barclays Women’s Super League wins as they were beaten 1-0 by the Red Devils at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on 2 February.
Josefine Rybrink made her Spurs debut just a matter of days after arriving in North London and looked relatively solid in the middle of the park.
However, it was her midfield teammate Oroz who made a real impression.

Spurs remain sixth in the WSL after the defeat to United, with the league’s third top scorer Beth England relatively quiet on Sunday afternoon.
Martha Thomas also failed to produce up front against her former side, however, Oroz did everything she could in the middle of the park to create opportunities for her strikers.
As per Sofascore, the Spanish midfielder completed 91 per cent of her passes, with two of those key, while she also succeeded with 100 per cent of her dribble attempts (four out of four).
In addition, she worked incredibly hard defensively, winning 10 of her 13 ground duels, making four tackles, blocking one shot and making one interception.
Therefore, Oroz would have no doubt been frustrated to feature on the losing side, and Vilahamn would have at least been impressed by her performance.

And the Spurs boss will be hoping for a similar display from the 26-year-old when Tottenham take on Arsenal Women away from home on Sunday 16 February.
