Robert Vilahamn will be delighted by Clare Hunt's start to life with Tottenham Women.

Spurs made a bright start to the season, winning two of their first three games in all competitions, and drawing the other.

However, that unbeaten start came to an end as Liverpool Women defeated Vilahamn's side 3-2 at Brisbane Road in the Barclays Women's Super League on Sunday (6 October).

Cornelia Kapocs gave Liverpool the lead in the 10th minute before Spurs equalised through a Taylor Hinds own goal. Marie Höbinger then restored the visitors' lead in the 75th minute, but the hosts once again clawed their way back into the match, as Hunt got her first goal for the club in the 83rd minute.

However, after Höbinger netted from the spot in the 95th minute, there wasn't enough time for the North London side to score a third equaliser.

Vilahamn would have no doubt felt disappointed that his side lost two points so late on after coming from behind twice. However, despite the defeat, he will have been pleased with Hunt's display.

In addition to her goal against Liverpool, the 25-year-old impressed defensively, making four clearances, one interception and blocking one shot (Sofascore).

She also won one ground duel and six of her nine aerial duels. On the ball she showed quality, completing 86 per cent of her passes with one of those key.

Therefore, despite losing, Vilahamn will feel confident that he has a defender in his squad who can help Tottenham push on this season.
