Xavi Simons signing confirmed – Next three Tottenham signings who could follow

Tottenham have set their transfer window alight with the blockbuster signing of Xavi Simons.

Simons has joined Spurs from RB Leipzig in a late £51.8million swoop, finally landing a much-needed alternative for the injured James Maddison.

This came after previous failings for Tottenham to sign Morgan Gibbs-White before losing out on Eberechi Eze to Arsenal.

As a result, the signing of Simons has represented a sizable boost to Thomas Frank’s squad, but the incomings may not be done there at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Now, Tottenham News has assessed three star names who could follow the Netherlands international through the doors in North London before the 1 September deadline.

Ademola Lookman could complete forward line

Even with the addition of the 22-year-old, there does feel as if another attacking option would make the Lilywhites a huge threat in the Premier League.

That is where Spurs could swoop for Lookman at Atalanta, with a departure from the Serie A looking increasingly likely this summer.

The Nigeria international has netted over 50 goals since moving to Italy, proving himself at the top level after many subpar years at Leicester City and Fulham.

Kobbie Mainoo could reignite career at Tottenham

Another area of the pitch that looks in need of further depth is the centre of the park, something which Mainoo could help solve this season.

Having fallen out of favour with Ruben Amorim, the England international could once again flourish if given the chance in N17.

In the past year, the 20-year-old has been the star of an FA Cup final and a regular at the EUROs, proving exactly how good he can be.

As a result, a cut-price deal or even a loan deal with Manchester United could represent a smart piece of business and a real coup for Spurs before deadline day.

Manuel Akanji could make move from Manchester City

It has to be said that centre-back depth may not be on the top of the agenda at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium right now, but turning down a bargain may be hard.

With Akanji reportedly available for just £15m, Spurs could land one of the better centre-backs in the Premier League for a hugely cut price.

This could prove to be a statement of intent from Frank, adding a serial winner to his squad to add firm competition for Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven in North London.

It is unclear as to what his wage demands could be, but with such a low transfer fee involved, his weekly salary could rise and still fit in with the Lilywhites’ wage structure.
