Tottenham new manager: Thomas Frank to turn tide amid Ange Postecoglou sack news

Ange Postecoglou could be in serious jeopardy of losing his job at Tottenham.

The Australian has continued to be strongly linked with the sack despite winning the Europa League to end a 17-year spell without silverware.

This has secured the 59-year-old hero status at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, although that may not be enough for him to remain in the dugout.

If Postecoglou is to face the sack, other candidates like Thomas Frank may see a perfect opportunity to take Spurs forward into the Champions League.

Frank could replace Postecoglou at Tottenham

There has been no shortage of links with an exit for the ex-Celtic boss in North London, despite not yet losing his job at this stage.

With that being said, Daniel Levy could still be set to pull the trigger as he continues to assess his options and potential replacements ahead of the summer [Daily Mail, 30 May].

As time passes, the chairman is said to be edging closer to moving Postecoglou on, which could leave the door open for Frank, if he is the chosen man.

This could prove to be a huge boost for the Lilywhites, given how well the Dane has done throughout his spell in charge of Brentford.

The Bees’ manager has recently seen his odds of becoming the Tottenham manager slashed to 1/2 [Bet365, 23 May], which points towards a deal being possible.

This could allow the 51-year-old to turn the tide in the Premier League for the North London club after such a negative domestic season.

His ability to change up his tactical approach for different types of opponents could prove to be exactly what the N17 club need to help compete in the league in Europe’s elite competition.

Frank could transform Tottenham if appointed

Although Frank may not be the most flashy name that Levy could bring in, his ability as a head coach can not be questioned at a Premier League level.

The Dane has taken Brentford from the Championship to being in the running for European football, which can’t be ignored.

This could see him be the perfect replacement for Postecoglou, if Levy does look to move him on, given that he wants to play exciting and also extremely effective football.

It will certainly be interesting now to see what decision the chairman makes and whether the likes of Andoni Iraola would also be considered.
