Tottenham fans ‘will quietly agree’ after what’s been said about Son to Arsenal
Tottenham fans will be upset by speculation suggesting Son Heung-min will be sold this summer.
The Korean winger remains as popular as ever among supporters.
However, they’re likely to quietly agree about what was been said about his potential transfer by a prominent pundit.

‘Son good enough for Arsenal‘
Son has been linked with clubs in the Turkish and Saudi Leagues this summer, while former Spurs scout Bryan King believes he’s already lined up his next move.
However, during his stint as co-host of the talkSPORT breakfast show on Thursday (19 June), Dean Saunders suggested Son was still good enough to play for Arsenal.
He said: “He could play for Arsenal, Liverpool, any top team. He’d fit into any top team. He’s got a football brain, and that’s the most important thing. He’s not finished at 32.”
While most Tottenham fans would quietly agree that Son still has value to add to a top Premier League team, the link to bitter rivals Arsenal would infuriate them.
No player has made the move from Tottenham to Arsenal since Sol Campbell joined the Gunners on a free transfer in 2001.
Campbell was labelled as the biggest traitor in world football when that happened. If Son was to make the same move, it could arguably be even more devastating to Spurs fans.
Son looks likely to leave Tottenham this summer
Son’s exit from Tottenham will be tough to take wherever he ends up – and that clearly will not be Arsenal.
This man is a Tottenham legend. He has represented the club impeccably over the last 10 years.
Signed | Appearances | Goals |
August 2015 | 454 | 173 |
However, it’s looking likely that he’s played his last Premier League match for Spurs.
Sources suggest that Son is off to Fenerbahce. He’ll link up with former boss Jose Mourinho there, someone who knows how to get the best out of him.
Perhaps it’s for the best. The skipper is 32 years old. His contract expires this summer. His performances have been waning over the last couple of years.
Daniel Levy has always been one to extract maximum value from a player when it comes to selling them. That’s good for the club, but there’s no room for sentiment when doing that.
And the fact is: there will be no better time than now to sell Sonny for a reasonable fee.
