Tottenham fans to take note after what Rangers fans chanted at Mikey Moore – ‘Unbelievable’
Mikey Moore had a successful return from injury at Rangers on Saturday as the Scottish side beat Kilmarnock 3-0.
Moore joined Rangers on loan from Spurs during the summer transfer window, but has had a disappointing first few months at Ibrox.
Following his poor start to the season, Tottenham were urged to recall Moore and send him elsewhere in January.
However, after four matches out injured, the 18-year-old marked his return to the Rangers squad with a 15-minute substitute appearance and a goal against Kilmarnock, while also having one ruled out.
Rangers fans showing Mikey Moore some love
Moore showed some of his undoubted potential against Kilmarnock, receiving the ball on the half-turn and driving towards goal, before firing a shot into the bottom corner.
The Spurs loanee thought he had his second of the evening, after executing a deft chip over the goalkeeper, but VAR ruled that there was an offside offence in the build-up.
Rangers fans were delighted with Moore’s cameo appearance, and even came up with a new chant for the youngster, repurposing the song they had used for former Gers striker Michael Mols.
Speaking after the game, the winger revealed that it was “unbelievable” to hear the love from the supporters.
Moore said: “To hear the fans singing a song about me was unbelievable. I didn’t expect to have a song after a few games.
“It was really good, and if I score a few more goals, then hopefully I will hear it some more.”
Tottenham supporters must replicate Rangers fans
Moore has been tipped to be a future star for Tottenham, and there will be a weight of expectation on his shoulders when he returns to North London.
However, the Spurs faithful must ensure that they give the teenager enough love when his loan spell at Rangers finishes, in order to get the best out of him.
After his performance against Kilmarnock, it is clear that Moore thrives when receiving support from the fans.
Tottenham could do a lot worse than making up their own song for the attacker upon his return to the club.
