Tottenham can raid Chelsea for ‘perfect Renato Veiga transfer’ early
Renato Veiga is the exact type of player that Tottenham Hotspur should be looking to sign during the summer transfer window.
Tottenham are limping over the line in the Premier League, as they put together what is quickly becoming the worst season in the club’s history.
While Europa League success might paper over some of the cracks at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, it is clear to see that there is a lot of work to be done over the summer months.
Firing Ange Postecoglou and hiring a new manager might be one way of achieving that, but the squad itself is crying out for some additions to improve the depth and the quality.

Renato Veiga would cover a lot of issues
Veiga is a Chelsea player, but has been in Italy playing for Juventus since the January transfer window, and the lack of trust in him from Enzo Maresca could make him an option to sign this summer.
Tottenham need more quality through the doors, and signing a young, hungry player, who is keen to break into the starting line-up of a top team would be ideal.
Veiga is a powerhouse on the pitch, having the ability to drive the ball forward while also providing a goal threat.
Strong in the air and commanding in a tackle, he has the potential to fill the hole that Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg left behind, which was never filled.

Plus, pulling a player away from a local rival is always a popular move with supporters, and at the moment, Daniel Levy can do with some positive PR.

Veiga would also fill the gap of a departing player
Another reason why the Chelsea player would be an ideal signing is because of the expected departure of Cristian Romero this summer.
The centre-back is widely expected to be leaving Spurs when the season ends, with the relationship between him and the fans starting to turn sour at the moment.
His aggression will be missed within the team, though, as well as his assured presence at the back, which is something that Veiga can offer.
He has proven his ability for Portugal and Juventus to be a strong defender, but he’s also versatile enough to be an option in midfield, which would bolster Postecoglou’s squad depth issues.
