Tottenham as good as down if what Ian Wright spotted vs Arsenal is true

Ian Wright believes Tottenham players refused to take on instructions from Igor Tudor during the loss to Arsenal.

Despite being more than in the North London derby for large periods, a late surge from rivals Arsenal saw the Gunners win 4-1 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Spurs sit 16th in the Premier League, dangerously close to the relegation zone – hence the appointment of firefighter Tudor, who guided Juventus to a Champions League spot last term.

Looking back on Sunday’s match, former Arsenal man Wright pinpointed a moment between Tudor and captain Micky Van de Ven.

And if what he said is true, then Tottenham may as well finish the season right here.

Ian Wright pinpoints big Igor Tudor moment

For large periods on Sunday, Spurs more than matched Arsenal, with Randal Kolo Muani equalising shortly after Eberechi Eze’s opener.

Though, a Viktor Gyokeres double and a second from Eze would see Arsenal take a 4-1 win back home with them.

Speaking on Stick to Football with Gary Neville and Co, former Arsenal striker Wright referred to a moment between Tudor and captain Van de Ven.

“Against Arsenal, I saw Tudor trying to speak to Van de Ven, and he blanked him, totally blanked him,” said Wright.

“That says to me that they’ve checked out already,” added Wright, referencing the moment below.

“This guy (Tudor) is new; he wants him to come up, he’s looking at Van de Ven, and he just stays there. That doesn’t look good,” concluded the former striker.

Tudor’s side sit 16th, and are in desperate need of results ahead of two more winnable fixtures against Fulham and Crystal Palace.

But if what Wright mentioned is true, then Spurs’ players can consider themselves as good as down.

Tottenham players can’t have left the best impression on Tudor

Following his arrival, Tudor has been given one job, to steer the club to safety after a dismal period under Thomas Frank left Tottenham languishing just above the relegation zone.

However, the question remains as to whether his players have left the best impression in his short time thus far.

While a full verdict cannot be given based on one clip, the current signs point in the direction of individuals showing no desire to remain at Spurs at the end of the season.

However, this is much more simple for the players, who will soon get the big-money moves in which they desire.

For the club, relegation spells disaster with job losses and huge damage to the long term direction.

Ahead of the final months, all supporters want to see is the desire and heart to play for Tottenham, while the club’s top-flight future is secured in the process.

Those on the pitch have left Spurs in this mess, meaning that there is no excuse at all for poor application until the end of the season, no matter what the future might hold elsewhere for these players.
