Thomas Frank ‘could be gone in months’ after double Tottenham exit news

Tottenham have divided opinion amongst football supporters with the appointment of Thomas Frank as manager.

Some say he lacks the presence and experience to be a success in North London, while others have hailed his intelligence and ability to develop youth at Brentford.

One thing that is certain is that Spurs will continue to be an enthralling watch as Frank tries his hand under Daniel Levy.

While it will be no easy ride, the Dane’s Tottenham journey would be significantly hampered if two players were to leave.

Frank future made more difficult if Tottenham duo depart

While they possess the skeleton of a decent side, Tottenham will have to go some way to improve upon a dismal Premier League showing.

The Lilywhites possess an array of talent who could walk into most teams in Dejan Kulusevski, Micky van de Ven, and Cristian Romero.

However, there are several long-serving players that the North London outfit must decide on this summer.

Son Heung-min is nearing the end of his Tottenham contract and could be sold this summer to generate funds.

Furthermore, one of Son’s closest allies, Ben Davies, has been hotly tipped with a move to Championship side Wrexham.

While neither have enjoyed the best of seasons at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, their departures could taint Frank’s job in more ways than one.

Frank would lose two Spurs leaders in Son and Davies

Losing Son and Davies would mark the end of an era for the Lilywhites as the pair have notched 812 appearances between them.

While both have shown signs of decline, there is a wider picture that the London club must consider before selling.

The Tottenham duo are key members of the dressing room, with Son the captain and Davies a senior figure.

Both hold huge sway amongst the players, and that could play to Frank’s advantage if they were to stay.

The Spurs players are understandably angered by Ange Postecoglou’s sacking and will need convincing to follow Frank.

Of course, they are professionals, but it could take influential players like Son and Davies to back Frank behind the scenes.

If Son and Davies stay, then Frank’s task will be smoother, but if Levy cashes in, then it could be a turbulent ride, which could be over in months.
