Tanganga ‘to help Tottenham complete Marc Guehi transfer’ by end of month

Japhet Tanganga may play a pivotal role to help Tottenham sign Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi this summer transfer window.

The 26-year-old left Tottenham as a free agent last summer and joined Millwall permanently after a loan move.

Tanganga could now potentially aid Spurs in their pursuit of Guehi, with the North Londoners hoping to reinforce their squad for new boss Thomas Frank.

Crystal Palace to pursue Tanganga after selling Tottenham target Guehi

Crystal Palace are interested in former Tottenham defender Tanganga, according to Express Sport.

The news outlet reports (13 June) that the Eagles’ pursuit of the Englishman will depend on Guehi’s sale in the coming weeks.

It’s been claimed that the ex-Spurs centre-back has a £1.2million release clause for Premier League clubs this summer, and the 26-year-old wants his future resolved by the end of the month.

As a result, Tanganaga could be a catalyst for Oliver Glasner’s team to find a potential suitor for Guehi soon, and Tottenham may be waiting in the wings to complete a deal.

Cristian Romero could leave Spurs soon, giving them an incentive to pursue the 24-year-old England international this summer.

Tottenham should push for Guehi transfer after Frank appointment

Frank should ask Daniel Levy to sanction multiple signings at the North London outfit after being appointed as manager, with Bryan Mbeumo already being linked with them.

While Tottenham arguably need some quality attackers, centre-backs should be their priority after what happened this season.

Ange Postecoglou was sacked at Spurs after an abysmal Premier League campaign, which wasn’t helped by injuries to Romero and Micky van de Ven.

Archie Gray deputised at the back for the North Londoners on several occasions as they finished 17th in the English top flight.

Guehi has established himself as one of the best defenders in recent seasons, and the advent of Champions League football at Tottenham may entice him.

Romero and Van de Ven have been injury-prone at the Lilywhites over the years, and even if they stay, it would make sense to sign the Palace star.

Radu Dragusin has struggled to make an impact at Spurs, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see him leave in the coming months.

Kevin Danso is another option at Frank’s disposal, but it remains to be seen how the 26-year-old performs in his first full season in North London.
