Son Heung-min ‘to hand in transfer request’ after what’s happened at Tottenham
Tottenham fans should not be surprised if Son Heung-min pushes for an exit after the treatment he has received this season.
Obviously, there is no hiding from the fact his form has completely dropped, but he has still managed to notch six goals and six assists in 19 Premier League appearances so far.
Supporters have often looked to the South Korean to make a telling impact, which he has done over the past decade at Hotspur Way, but his decline has come at the wrong time for Spurs.
At 32 years of age, Son is unable to carry the weight of the entire squad on his back, much like he is being expected to as Spurs struggle under Ange Postecoglou.
He appeared to get caught up in the abuse being fired at the under-pressure manager following their 3-2 defeat to Everton on Sunday (19 January), though that has seen him gain some sympathy online.
While this is all well and good, the voices at Goodison Park will have been far louder than those on social media, and the player will undoubtedly be receiving direct messages from angry “fans”.

It seems like just a matter of time before Daniel Levy pulls the trigger on Postecoglou’s future in North London, which could force Son into finding new horizons.
The merry-go-round in North London has taken a dark turn as Spurs drift closer and closer to the Premier League relegation zone, and if fans are not grateful enough, one of their star players could get up and leave.
Son has dedicated nearly a decade of his life to the Lilywhites, choosing not to go elsewhere in an attempt to bring silverware to Hotspur Way.
With Spurs now struggling under Postecoglou’s reign, all of that hard work seems to have been forgotten about as he attempted to console the travelling fans at Goodison Park.
Many supporters would not blame the player if he decided to hand in a transfer request, just days after committing his future in North London with a new contract extension.
They will not realise what they’ve got once it’s gone. If current trends continue, that moment could be very soon.
