Son Heung-min ‘has to hold Levy crunch talks’ as shock Postecoglou leaks emerge

Ange Postecoglou is under intense pressure at Tottenham ahead of the second leg of their Europa League tie against Frankfurt.

With Tottenham sitting 15th in the Premier League table, they have performed well below expectations this season.

Spurs go into their Europa League tie at 1-1 after the home leg but if they fail to secure victory, it could spell the end of Postecoglou’s time in north London.

Son Heung-min has Tottenham responsibility

The problems at Tottenham this season are countless and not just one party can come under full fire for the struggles faced at The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Daniel Levy has once again let the supporters down with a lack of financial support and several players have struggled to step up, especially with injuries in the team.

That being said, it is Postecoglou’s head who will be on the chopping block first should changes need to be made at Spurs.

Tottenham supporters have been let down this season.

That seems even more the case too after it was reported that James Maddison has directly clashed with Postecoglou.

It was also claimed that Dejan Kulusevski is “physically exhausted” and Mikey Moore has been patronised by the boss, suggesting he has lost the support of the dressing room.

If this is the case though, it is time for Son Heung-min to step up into his role as captain and turn to Levy for discussions about the future of the club.

Even though players, including Son and Maddison, have responsibility to take for the problems this term, there is no way Postecoglou can continue in his role if the squad do not believe in him.

With that in mind, Son has no choice but to go upstairs and make sure he speaks up now about what he and his teammates need ahead of the new campaign.

Postecoglou sack a matter of time

Tottenham face a massive game away at Frankfurt on Thursday (17 April) and the result could be vital in the immediate future of Spurs.

However, it is feeling increasingly unlikely that the boss will be anywhere near The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium next season, especially after a 4-2 defeat against Wolves in the Premier League.

If reports of the dressing room starting to turn are true as well then it seems like a no-brainer for the chief to make the necessary changes ahead of the new season.

Son has not delivered to the levels you would expect from him throughout the term but this could be his chance to stand up for Tottenham and secure success going forward.
