‘Postecoglou faces Catch-22 situation at Tottenham’ after Brennan Johnson scare

Ange Postecoglou faces a difficult period at Tottenham as they prepare for their Europa League final with Manchester United.

Tottenham‘s entire season hinges on their ability to win the Europa League at the end of the season, and quite literally everyone in North London will be aware of that.

A 17th-place finish in the Premier League is on the cards for Postecoglou’s side, who have since turned full attention to their final with Manchester United.

However, doing that comes at a cost, and it will be one that Postecoglou needs to decide if it is a risk worth taking ahead of the final two league games.

Tottenham are in wretched form

Off the back of their latest 2-0 defeat to Crystal Palace, Spurs are now winless in their last five Premier League encounters, though their Europa League form has subdued most of those concerns.

Ultimately, at this stage in the season, the only thing that matters is how far they can progress in the competition, but a lack of form will make it incredibly hard to come out victorious.

However, on the other hand, Postecoglou will want his side to be fully fit and raring to go for the clash with The Red Devils, leaving him in a Catch-22 situation.

Does he risk injuries to key players in a bid to build some momentum? Or does he risk entering the final with no momentum or belief but with a full squad? It’s a decision he will need to make.

Even away from competitive fixtures, Tottenham have suffered injury scares, with footage of Brennan Johnson picking up a knock in training causing plenty of concern after several others were ruled out.

Europa League success is a must for Tottenham

Tottenham’s summer recruitment and managerial situation will be decided by the Europa League final, and it is imperative that they are on the right end of the scoreline come the final whistle.

A season without European football would be a disaster for Tottenham, and when faced with the task of beating the worst Man United side in history, they won’t have a much better opportunity to end their 17-year run without a trophy.
