PGMOL have more to answer for as Randal Kolo Muani comparison made in Tottenham vs Arsenal
Tottenham did not get the result they wanted in the North London derby, but there were plenty of moments to talk about, including Randal Kolo Muani’s disallowed goal.
Eberechi Eze opened the scoring, but Kolo Muani struck back to make it 1-1 heading into the second half.
The Lilywhites struggled to insert themselves in the early moments of the second 45, as Viktor Gyokeres punished their slow start to make it 2-1.
Spurs had thought they equalised once again when Kolo Muani struck past David Raya. However, the goal was disallowed for a push in the back, and after a VAR review, the decision would stand.
Now, that disallowed goal may have some added controversy, as images from an earlier game in Tottenham’s season have emerged, with a pretty damning comparison.
Why should Tottenham feel aggrieved by Randal Kolo Muani’s disallowed goal?
Igor Tudor may feel unlucky to come away with a 4-1 loss, as it very well could have been 2-2 at one point in the match.
Tottenham fans will remember the 2-1 defeat to Liverpool in December, and after looking back, they are within their right to be frustrated with the referee against the Gunners.
Kolo Muani’s goal against Arsenal was ruled out for having two hands on Gabriel’s back and pushing the Brazilian over.
However, Liverpool’s Hugo Ekitike was allowed to score a goal after a similar offence. The Reds striker’s finish was allowed to stand, unlike Kolo Muani’s.
The PGMOL must simply come out and explain the reasoning behind the disallowance, as, on the surface, the two situations are almost identical.
When Ekitike scored against Spurs, the Premier League Match Centre described the incident as “normal contact for an aerial challenge”.
Kolo Muani gives himself a lifeline at Tottenham
Much was said of Kolo Muani’s previous spell under Tudor, and it appears that existing working relationship could be a success.
The Frenchman netted his first Premier League goal of the season, and as spoken about before, he should have had two.
Confidence instilled into him by a manager who got the best out of him at Juventus could be his lifeline at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

His performance against Arsenal may certainly give him more time to prove himself in front of the Spurs supporters as well.
Fans had begun getting impatient with the striker in recent weeks, but there could now be light at the end of the tunnel for the loanee in N17.
