Gibbs-White signs – How Thomas Frank could line Tottenham up v Burnley
Thomas Frank is preparing Tottenham for their first Premier League fixture with Burnley in August.
Spurs could come up against a familiar face, with former right-back Kyle Walker signing for the Clarets this summer, and the Lilywhites are set to make some signings of their own.
Frank’s side have already brought Mohammed Kudus to North London, but they will need more reinforcements in the coming weeks should they be able to compete domestically next season.
Now, Tottenham News has predicted how Spurs could line up when they welcome Burnley to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (16 August) for their opening game of the Premier League season.

Frank to add depth to his defence
Injuries were a major problem for Tottenham last season, as they struggled to keep up with the busy schedule.
Frank’s first competitive game will come in the UEFA Super Cup against Paris Saint-Germain, which is scheduled to be played just three days before Spurs’ clash with Burnley.
With that in mind, there is added importance for Tottenham to sign more defenders. Guglielmo Vicario, Pedro Porro, Micky van de Ven and Destiny Udogie are likely to keep their places.
However, there could be a new man to partner van de Ven, with Cristian Romero’s future still uncertain. The Lilywhites have been linked with a move for Belgian defender Koni De Winter from Genoa.
The 23-year-old would add versatility to the Spurs backline, having played both right-back and centre-back in Italy.

Gibbs-White to add more creativity to Tottenham
Lucas Bergvall missed the end of last season due to injury, but the Swede looks set to return for the start of the new campaign.
With the Tottenham squad looking set to be back at nearly full strength, Spurs could make room for Archie Gray to rejoin the midfield. The youngster has struggled at times since his move from Leeds, often having to fill in as utility right-back, with Ange Postecoglou’s defence being hit by injuries.
Gray and Bergvall could prove to be the perfect pivot for the Lilywhites, as Frank’s side looks to put any worries from last season behind them. Meanwhile, a move for Morgan Gibbs-White is currently in limbo.
Stat | Morgan Gibbs-White |
Appearances | 38 |
Goals | 7 |
Assists | 8 |
Nottingham Forest are threatening legal action against Spurs, which has put the move at a standstill.
Though the tactics from Evangelos Marinakis will delay the move, Gibbs-White is still expected to become a Spurs player before the start of the season.

Yoane Wissa to replace Dominic Solanke
The Lilywhites could further add to their attack this summer, as they look to add an out-and-out number nine.
Frank’s former forwards Bryan Mbuemo and Yoane Wissa have been linked, but it remains to be seen whether the pair will follow their former boss or move elsewhere.
Wissa is more likely to join, and he could form a new-look attack with big-money signing Kudus and Mathys Tel, who may be the long-term replacement for Son Heung-min.
