Frank ‘to meet with Son Heung-min’ after commitments away from Tottenham
Son Heung-min’s future at Tottenham remains a big talking point in North London.
Spurs have reportedly opened the door to a potential sale of their captain after almost a decade of service in N17, culminating in the icon guiding the Lilywhites to their first major trophy in 17 years.
The South Korean has one year left on his current contract, but is expected to stay at least until the end of Tottenham’s pre-season tour in Asia.
Son is keen to remain at Tottenham next season to compete in the UEFA Champions League, but the forward is yet to return to Hotspur Way for training.

Son’s return delayed by pre-agreed family commitments
Tottenham players have been piling in from their holidays for pre-season training this week, with Thomas Frank in place to assess the playing group ahead of building his final squad for his debut campaign.
The Dane has already made up his mind on signing Mohammed Kudus from West Ham this summer, but is yet to decide on the futures of a host of players.
One of them is Son, who has delayed his return to North London due to pre-agreed family commitments, according to Football London (10 July).
However, the forward is expected to be back by the end of the week, which will allow Frank to formally meet with Son and partake in direct discussions over their respective plans.
Seasons | Appearances | Goals | Assists | Minutes Played |
2024/25 | 46 | 11 | 12 | 3,189′ |
2023/24 | 36 | 17 | 10 | 2,967′ |
2022/23 | 47 | 14 | 6 | 3,788′ |
The skipper’s influence has waned in recent years, though he was struggling with a foot injury for the second half of last season that never fully healed and saw him miss Spurs’ final Premier League fixture.
It remains to be seen whether Frank views the former Bayer Leverkusen man as part of his future, though the 51-year-old is renowned for improving players and could try to work his magic to return Son to his best form.

Frank to make tough decisions about forwards
Kudus’ imminent arrival, paired with Tottenham’s pursuit of Yoane Wissa, will leave Frank with a wealth of options in forward areas.
Son’s future is yet to be decided, while Brennan Johnson, Mathys Tel, Wilson Odobert, and Dejan Kulusevski will all hope to stake their claim in the first team from a wide position.
This is without mentioning the likes of Manor Solomon and Mikey Moore, both of whom have yet to hold down regular spots at Spurs.
The plethora of attackers available to Frank will leave him with tough decisions to make, with at least one or two players needing to be moved on this summer.
