Fiorentina are surely going to trigger £8.7m Tottenham option for Manor Solomon
Manor Solomon has never truly been given much of a chance to carve out a role with Tottenham.
Signed by Tottenham on a free transfer in the summer of 2023 from Shakhtar Donetsk, Solomon fit the profile of a low-risk, high-reward gamble.
Then-23, the Israel international had just spent the 2022-23 season on loan with London rivals Fulham, where he scored five goals in 24 appearances for the Cottagers before penning a five-year deal with Spurs.
However, neither Ange Postecoglou or Thomas Frank ever appeared to really fancy him, as he made just six appearances for the Lilywhites in 2023-24, and has been out on loan away from N17 ever since.

Manor Solomon has been superb for Fiorentina
Solomon spent the 2024-25 season on loan with Leeds, scoring 10 times and providing 13 assists in 41 total appearances, as he played a key role in helping Daniel Farke’s side win promotion to the Premier League.
Following that, there was some Spurs wondering whether the winger would get a chance to stake a first-team claim under Frank for the start of this season, but that wasn’t the case.
Instead, he was loaned out to Spanish side Villarreal, but after 11 games comprising of a goal and four assists there, he was recalled in January and immediately sent back out on loan, this time to Fiorentina.
And, in his first eight games with the Florence-based outfit, Solomon has scored twice in eight Serie A appearances, and has been putting in some excellent performances.
As per Sofascore, the 26-year-old has a 97 per cent passing accuracy when in his own half, is registering a 40 per cent goal conversion rate, has won 71 per cent of his total duels and is completing 70 per cent of his dribbles.
In short, Solomon has been a hugely impactful addition to the Serie A strugglers, and with Fiorentina understood to have a €10million euros/£8.7m pounds option to buy him from Spurs, that looks a no-brainer for them at the moment.
However, much of that may depend on whether they survive in Serie A this season, as they are currently sitting in 18th, the final relegation place, and are three points behind Lecce in 17th.
Spurs wouldn’t have done worse for giving Solomon a chance this year
Tottenham’s forward line has not been firing on all cylinders this season, and numerous players in that department have underperformed.
Mathys Tel hasn’t improved upon his debut campaign in North London, Mohammed Kudus now looks set to miss the majority of the season through injury, as will Wilson Odobert, who hasn’t scored in 24 league games this season.
Therefore, Solomon’s performances in Serie A, in a relegation-threatened Fiorentina team no less, would suggest that Spurs could’ve done far worse than to hand him an extended opportunity to shine for them this term.
Alas, Fiorentina will now surely look to capitalise on his option to buy fee if they can, snatching away a player that could’ve been a valuable member of the squad in N17 this term for a minimal fee.
