Fabio Paratici genius emerges as Douglas Luiz transfer news drops at Tottenham

Fabio Paratici left Tottenham in March 2023 but might still be pulling the strings when it comes to transfers.

Spurs announced their first signing of the winter just five days into the window, confirming the acquisition of goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky from Sparta Prague.

With rumours about Randal Kolo Muani and Abdukodir Khusanov rife, it is evident that the North London giants are also looking to strengthen other areas of the pitch this month.

Daniel Levy knew he was going to have a busy January transfer window and, thus, turned to Paratici for advice, as reported by talkSPORT’s Alex Crook on 30 December.

If anyone doubted the Italian transfer guru’s continuing influence at Tottenham, one transfer may help put that to bed.

Tottenham interest in Douglas Luiz has Fabio Paratici written all over it

Spurs are interested in signing Douglas Luiz from Juventus this month, according to Tutto Juve.

The Italian outlet reported via their website on 8 January that Spurs are on the Brazil international’s trail, although Arsenal and Manchester United are in the mix.

This comes after it emerged that two unnamed Premier League clubs want to sign the 26-year-old [Calciomercato.com, 7 January].

Juventus only signed Luiz from Aston Villa in the summer, but are already ready to offload him. They are prepared to let him on loan with an obligation to buy.

The midfielder, for his part, is open to returning to England.

Therefore, it would not be a surprise if Paratici was the driving force behind Tottenham’s interest in Luiz.

He worked with the Bianconeri for 11 years before moving to North London in 2021 and has strong contacts at both clubs.

Paratici could, therefore, offer a transfer solution to both his former employers by taking Luiz to Tottenham.

There is no reason why Ange Postecoglou would not welcome the former Villa star into his team as he would add experience and stability to his midfield.

While the Premier League already have Rodrigo Bentancur and Yves Bissouma as defensive-minded midfielders, Luiz would certainly add a different dimension to the team.

In other Tottenham news, Radu Dragusin is surely finished at Spurs after what sources said about a new transfer.
