Destiny Udogie ‘to leave Tottenham within weeks’ as Spurs line up bargain deal

Tottenham could cash in on Destiny Udogie in what promises to be a busy summer transfer window.

Udogie played a key part in Ange Postecoglou’s first season in charge of Spurs, bagging two goals and three assists in 28 Premier League appearances.

However, much like his teammates, the Italy international’s form has regressed this season, often causing Djed Spence to start ahead of him at left-back.

Despite his inconsistency, the 22-year-old is attracting interest from Manchester City ahead of the summer, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Tottenham to sanction Udogie exit

There have been claims that Tottenham do not want to lose Udogie, but Levy could be tempted to cash in on him if he receives a big offer.

Given the left-back’s age, contract quality and potential, Spurs could demand as high as £60million for him from Manchester City.

Levy may have already gotten the ball rolling to sell Udogie, with a new full-back already on his radar.

The North London giants are keeping tabs on Kyle Walker-Peters ahead of the summer, according to The Guardian.

The newspaper reported via their website on Wednesday (23 April) that Tottenham, as well as West Ham, Fulham and Wolves, are interested in signing the Englishman on a free transfer when he leaves Southampton.

Walker-Peters is due to leave Southampton this summer.

Spurs ready bargain deal for Walker-Peters

While Walker-Peters may not be a starter at Spurs, his ability to operate both as a right-back and a left-back could allow some wiggle room in that area.

Re-signing the defender may see the Premier League club sell Udogie for a hefty sum and make Spence their first-choice left-back.

Alternatively, Levy could oversee an overhaul in the full-back department by also selling Pedro Porro, who is not short of interest.

This would allow Spence to play in his preferred right-back position, with Walker-Peters providing cover to his compatriot and whoever the new left-back is.

Udogie and Porro are two of Tottenham’s most sellable assets, and cashing in on them would allow Levy to make major additions elsewhere.

This is why re-signing Walker-Peters would be such a bargain for the Lilywhites.
