Dejan Kulusevski anonymous, Spence 9/10 – Tottenham player ratings v Brentford
Tottenham recorded a much-needed 2-0 win over Brentford on Sunday.
Despite being without Micky van de Ven, Spurs were able to keep a clean sheet at the Gtech Community Stadium on 2 February as they recorded their first Premier League win in 49 days.
While there were some lacklustre performances up front, the defenders made a positive account of themselves.
Tottenham News has rated the performance of each player out of 10.
Antonín Kinský – 6
He didn’t face too many shots, but the ones he did, he dealt with well while he also looked composed with the ball at his feet.
Pedro Porro – 7
Defended well as Spurs kept a very rare clean sheet.
Archie Gray – 8
Once again looked at home in the heart of defence as the midfielder-turned-centre-back continues to thrive in North London. Shook off the abuse from the home fans.
Ben Davies – 8
Demonstrated his experience and acted as the perfect partner for 18-year-old Gray at the back.
Djed Spence – 9
Dealt with the threat of Bryan Mbuemo – one of the Premier League’s most in-form players this season – very well. A mystery why it has taken this long for the Englishman to be given a chance.
Yves Bissouma – 5
Not the most convincing performance in the middle of the park. Spurs looked more assured when he was replaced by Pape Matar Sarr.
Rodrigo Bentancur – 7
Defended well and looked to progress the ball when he could. Unlucky not to get an assist after playing a delightful ball through for Dejan Kulusevski.

Dejan Kulusevski – 5
A very disappointing performance from a player of his quality. Wasn’t able to make any impact and wasted a great chance to score.

Mikey Moore – 5
Worked hard but struggled to find the right quality in the final third. Plenty of potential but still very raw. The right decision from Postecoglou to replace him at the break.
Richarlison – 5
Lacked any presence up front and never looked like scoring a goal.
Son Heung-min – 7
His corner deflected off Vitaly Janelt’s back to open the scoring. He also played a delightful ball for Sarr to double the Tottenham lead.
Subsitutes
Lucas Bergvall (On for Moore at HT) – 5
Worked hard but didn’t find the right quality.
Pape Matar Sarr (On for Bissouma, 68′) – 7
Provided some steel in midfield and scored a wonderful goal.
Dane Scarlett (On for Richarlison, 79′) – 5
Worked hard when he came on and almost scored his first Premier League goal.
