Daniel Levy ‘to stun Tottenham fans’ with Antoine Semenyo record transfer ready

Daniel Levy doesn’t have many supporters among the Tottenham fanbase, but that could change with a transfer for Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo.

Ange Postecoglou’s sacking at Spurs sparked a mixed reaction from fans, with some taking aim at the North London outfit’s co-chairman for not giving the Australian manager a chance.

Levy has chosen Thomas Frank to take charge of the Lilywhites ahead of the upcoming campaign, and plans have been made to sign reinforcements for the Danish boss.

Tottenham to break club record with Semenyo transfer from Bournemouth

Tottenham will need to break their club transfer record to sign Semenyo from Bournemouth, according to talkSPORT.

The news outlet reports (10 June) that Levy has met with the Ghana international’s representatives to discuss a potential move to Spurs this summer.

It’s been claimed that the Cherries want £70million for the 25-year-old forward to sanction a move, and the North London outfit’s chairman’s willingness to pay that amount would certainly stun fans.

At the moment, Tottenham’s current transfer record stands at £65m, which they paid to sign Dominic Solanke from the Vitality Stadium.

If the Lilywhites do end up signing Semenyo for a hefty price tag, the Spurs faithful will be delighted to see Levy showing ambition.

Frank must ask Levy for quality signings at Tottenham

Frank’s prospective arrival at Spurs has left fans pleased with the prospect of having one of the most exciting managers in English football lead them.

The North London outfit endured a difficult domestic campaign under Postecoglou, finishing 17th in the Premier League, but he managed to win the Europa League title.

With the Australian manager ending Tottenham’s 17-year wait for a trophy and sealing Champions League football for next season, hopes are high among supporters.

Levy’s recruitment strategy at Spurs over the years has left a lot to be desired, with funds being spent on underwhelming transfers.

When the North London outfit sold Gareth Bale, they failed to utilise that money wisely, leading to several unsuccessful transfers, such as Lewis Holtby and Roberto Soldado.

With Harry Kane leaving Tottenham, Levy felt it would be appropriate to splash the cash on Solanke, but the ex-Cherries star has failed to live up to expectations so far.

Semenyo has been a class apart for Bournemouth this season, and it would make sense to spend £70million on him, considering his age and goalscoring contributions in the Premier League.

It will be interesting to see whether Levy will opt to pay that amount and confirm the move in the coming weeks.
