Daniel Levy ‘to hold Monday crunch talks’ as Postecoglou sack looms at Tottenham
Ange Postecoglou is likely to be right on the brink of being sacked after Tottenham were knocked out of the FA Cup by Aston Villa on Sunday.
Spurs received a crushing blow after just two minutes at Villa Park on 9 February, with Antonin Kinsky being unable to keep hold of Jacob Ramsey’s cross-goal shot.
Postecoglou’s side really showed a lack of fight and desire, much like they have done in recent weeks, and it was telling as Morgan Rogers fired Villa two goals ahead just after the hour mark.
The Lilywhites only showed passion and aggression after the second goal, with Lucas Bergvall taking control of the midfield, but it was too little too late, even despite Mathys Tel’s late goal.
Daniel Levy to lose patience with Ange Postecoglou
Daniel Levy has been extremely patient with the manager so far, but with a lack of key signings during the winter transfer window, the manager is stuck between a rock and a hard place.
Injuries have proven fatal this season but even Postecoglou will admit that excuse has likely been overused, causing a lot of frustration amongst the fanbase.
After being knocked out of the EFL Cup by Liverpool on Thursday 6 February, Paul Robinson predicted the Spurs owner would wait for the result against Villa before speaking to Postecoglou on Monday 10 February.
That date has quickly arrived and after suffering a 2-1 defeat at the hands of the Villans, Levy is likely to now be holding crunch talks at Hotspur Way to discuss the manager’s future.
Tottenham manager could soon be managerless
As already discussed, the Lilywhites have been plagued by key injuries this season, but with the players remaining in the squad, Postecoglou should be doing so much better.

Placed 14th in the Premier League, the Australian is now just holding onto the idea of lifting the Europa League title, having progressed to the knockout stages, but anything less would have been embarrassing.
However, despite all the pressure building up on the manager and owner in North London, the main concern when thinking about life after Postecoglou is about who comes next.
Who would want to join the circus at Hotspur Way? With all the managers currently being linked with Postecoglou’s job, it would certainly be a big risk of them to leave their roles right now.
