Daniel Levy ‘made to look silly’ as Pochettino Tottenham stance emerges

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is eyeing potential replacements for Ange Postecoglou.

The Australian head coach is coming under serious pressure in North London as injuries continue to pile up.

This has seen Spurs knocked out of both cup competitions within a week, most recently falling to a 2-1 defeat against Aston Villa on Sunday (9 February).

Looking ahead to a clash against Manchester United, the Lilywhites’ boss will hope for a positive result or risk losing his job as Levy looks for a replacement.

Daniel Levy fails to convince Mauricio Pochettino of Tottenham move

It will be interesting to see if Destiny Udogie can return at Old Trafford and whether that will have a positive impact on the result.

If that isn’t the case then Postecoglou will have little excuse for continued poor form and could be on the chopping block in N17.

This could be on the cards regardless of the result against the Red Devils as Mauricio Pochettino is linked with a return to North London.

The 52-year-old is relishing the chance to work with younger players as well as the senior side which is likely to see him stay in international management [TEAMtalk].

Daniel Levy has questions to answer at Tottenham once again

If Levy is eyeing up new managers in N17, surely he has to put Postecoglou out of his misery and drop the axe before sounding out new options.

With that being said, it appears that the 63-year-old has failed in his mission to bring Pochettino back to the Premier League.

Given that the chairman supposedly has a positive friendship with the former PSG boss, it says a lot that he wouldn’t be able to convince him to join Spurs again.

It is positive to see the Argentine enjoying his life in the States but it could prove to be to the detriment of Spurs after the latest reports.

Ultimately, it could be that decision to sack Pochettino in first place and the merry-go-round of managers since makes Levy look silly. Things are undoubtedly a bit of a mess right now.
