Archie Gray ‘will be gutted’ as medical scheduled for Tottenham transfer

Kevin Danso is set to undergo a medical ahead of a move to Tottenham and Archie Gray may find himself turned to the bench as a result.

Following the injury to Radu Dragusin, the prospect of a defensive arrival has been a priority and the latest reports suggest that is about to happen.

Danso looks set to arrive from Lens with a medical booked in [Fabrizio Romano] but not all of the reaction will be positive.

Gray, having been utilised as a centre-back this season, may find himself dropped to the bench with Danso likely to partner Micky Van De Ven in defence if the signing goes through.

What next for Archie Gray at Tottenham?

Given the return of Van De Ven and the deal for Danso, Gray may no longer be the starting centre-back for Spurs which could certainly go one of two ways.

Either Gray finds himself third choice for that position, or Ange Postecoglou opts to utilise him elsewhere.

Of course, his natural position is in midfield but with several options there, it’s again unlikely that he would immediately force his way into the team there.

However, at least for now, it looks like Gray may find himself on the bench and given his performances this season, he will be gutted if that is to be the case.

The teen has been one of the standout players in a dismal campaign for Tottenham and even if he is to find himself dropped, he will still have a huge role to play in the remainder of the season.
