Antonin Kinsky has to be banging on Igor Tudor’s door after Fulham vs Tottenham

Tottenham suffered their fourth-straight Premier League defeat at Craven Cottage on Sunday.

Igor Tudor is not enjoying the start to life as Tottenham‘s interim head coach he, nor anyone connected with Spurs would’ve been hoping for.

After being routed by Arsenal in the North London derby in his first game in charge, he took his side to Fulham on Sunday, with a big response demanded and expected as such.

However, that wasn’t to be the case, as Marco Silva’s side ran out 2-1 winners thanks to goals from Harry Wilson and Alex Iwobi, as a 66th-minute Richarlison header proved only to be a consolation.

Igor Tudor should be considering Guglielmo Vicario change

Few Tottenham players covered themselves in glory at Craven Cottage, and goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario certainly wasn’t one of them.

The 29-year-old has been putting in some poor performances in recent games, and looks likely to be moved on from in the summer regardless of the outcome to Spurs’ relegation battle.

He wasn’t particularly at fault for either of Fulham’s goals in his defence, but when it came to other key aspects of his performance such as positioning, dealing with crosses into the box etc, he was disappointing.

When it comes to the goalkeeping position, having a player there that is assured and confident, and who has the trust of both his teammates and the supporters, is absolutely crucial.

Vicario just doesn’t have that with Tottenham, and once again at Fulham, the Italian looked shaky, and that’s reflected in the fact he’s not kept a clean sheet in the Premier League since 1 January this year.

So, with all of these things considered, Tudor must now be thinking about whether he should remain Tottenham’s starting goalkeeper between now and the end of the season.

Tottenham have opportune chance to assess Antonin Kinsky

With Vicario playing poorly and conceding goals on a weekly basis at the moment, now feels like a perfect opportunity for Tottenham to see some more of Antonin Kinsky.

The 22-year-old, whilst still very young, has put in some mixed performances over the course of his 12 first-team appearances for the Lilywhites in his career so far, but that is to be expected.

However, when he’s performed well, the Czech looks every bit of a future number one goalkeeper in N17, and if Vicario is to leave this summer, then he may well be fast-tracked into that role next term.

Therefore, why not give him a head start over these final weeks of the season. Vicario is out of form anyway, and Spurs chiefs will gain a clearer understanding of whether he’s number one material for next season, or if he’s still not quite ready yet.
