Ange Postecoglou to have last laugh on Daniel Levy as talks held over Premier League return
Ange Postecoglou appears to be closing in on a return to the Premier League, two months after being given the boot by Tottenham.
Daniel Levy sacked Postecoglou in June, despite the Aussie manager guiding Spurs to Europa League glory 16 days earlier.
Spurs chairman Levy was heavily criticised for the decision to sack Postecoglou, who promised he would win silverware in his second season at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and did exactly that.
However, it may well be that Postecoglou has the last laugh on Levy if a new update on the 59-year-old is anything to go by.

Ange Postecoglou holds talks with Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis
Postecoglou has been linked with a fair share of jobs since departing Tottenham – most recently the Nottingham Forest job.
Forest are currently managed by Nuno Espirito Santo, but reports suggest the Reds could part company with the Portuguese imminently.
And a new update from talkSPORT’s Alex Crook claims Postecoglou has already held talks with Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis over taking the position.
- Postecoglou managed 101 Tottenham matches
- Left with a win rate of 47%
- That’s lower than Antonio Conte (54%), Nuno Espirito Santo (53%), Jose Mourinho (52%) and Mauricio Pochettino (55%)
Postecoglou is said to be eager to return to the Premier League, and he has a good relationship with Marinakis.
Should Postecoglou take on the job, he will be landing on his feet given Forest are competing in the Europa League this season – the competition he won with Spurs last season.
And it would give Postecoglou the chance to get one over on the man who sacked him just a couple of months ago if he achieves any sort of success with Forest.

When could Ange Postecoglou return to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium?
Forest are due to travel to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on 21 March, with the reverse fixture at the City Ground pencilled in for 13 December.
Postecoglou has not yet agreed to take the Forest job, of course, but it is certainly looking as though he could be in charge before too long.
Spurs fans would certainly not begrudge him the chance to manage in the English top flight once again, and it will be interesting to see how he gets on if he does indeed become Forest boss.
