Levy holds meetings with Tottenham shareholders as Postecoglou sacked

Daniel Levy has demonstrated his ruthless nature once again at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Ange Postecoglou ended a 17-year trophy drought at Tottenham by guiding the Lilywhites to the UEFA Europa League.

However, it was not enough to save the Australian from the axe, as Tottenham confirmed on Friday (6 June) that Postecoglou had been sacked, as details of a meeting previously held by Levy now emerge.

Levy visits members of the Lewis family in the Bahamas

Change is in the air at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and Levy is leading the charge.

As reported by The Mail (6 June), Levy visited the Bahamas after the season ended, where he was thought to have met with members of the Lewis family, who are Tottenham's majority shareholders.

Postecoglou led a dreadful campaign

It comes amid a series of changes, including Postecoglou's sacking.

In addition to the manager being relieved of his duties, Tottenham Executive Director Donna-Maria Cullen announced she would be stepping down from her position.

Vinai Venkatesham has been appointed Tottenham CEO, and is already thought to have made a start after noticeable changes to the communications department.

And Group Operations and Finance Director of ENIC, Matthew Collecott, could follow Postecoglou out the exit door after recent doubts over his position.

Levy was holding talks to sack Postecoglou

It is clear now that Levy could have been holding talks with the Lewis family on Postecoglou's future and potential replacements.

The Tottenham Chairman launched his succession plan before the end of a poor Premier League campaign, where Spurs became the first team to suffer 22 defeats without relegation.

Brentford boss Thomas Frank has emerged as the likely candidate to take over at Hotspur Way.

However, the bookies show that Michael Carrick has grown in favour to replace Postecoglou after he was sacked by Middlesbrough.

Regardless of who takes over at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the club will undoubtedly be dealing with the fallout for months to come.
