What games Dejan Kulusevski will miss for Tottenham after devastating injury update
Tottenham have experienced a further crushing blow in what has been a nightmare 24 hours for Thomas Frank.
On Wednesday, 20 August, Arsenal completed a hijack of Spurs’ move for Eberechi Eze, after an agreement had finally been found with Crystal Palace.
Eze had been targeted after James Maddison underwent surgery on an injury to his anterior cruciate ligament, which was picked up in pre-season.
But Spurs have now been forced to move on to alternative options, and Tottenham have approached intermediaries about a potential move for Morgan Rogers.
The last thing that Frank needed was another setback for Dejan Kulusevski,

Dejan Kulusevski set for extended injury absence
Kulusevski has been unavailable for Spurs since May, after picking up a knee injury in the final games of the Premier League season.
The Swede later underwent surgery, but the timeframe for his return has been unclear, although the midfielder reportedly hoped to return to training in the latter months of 2025.
But it was reported by The Guardian on 21 August that Kulusevski is expected to be out until at least the start of 2026, in what will be another blow to Spurs.
With the extent of the 25-year-old’s lay-off now clear, decision-makers at The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will be under even more pressure to deliver a creative midfielder before the end of the window.
Frank’s squad currently lacks any form of attack from the middle of the park, with Spurs also missing out on Morgan Gibbs-White earlier in the summer.
What games will Dejan Kulusevski miss?
Kulusevski will miss at least 19 Premier League games this season, and the bulk of Spurs’ Champions League group stage campaign.
The Swede was already missing for the first major fixture of the season, with Frank’s side losing to Paris Saint-Germain on penalties in the UEFA Super Cup.
And Saturday’s clash against Manchester City will be the first big Premier League clash that the 25-year-old will be absent from.

Kulusevski will also miss clashes against Newcastle United and Liverpool in December, but Spurs will hope he can return before the return visit of Manchester City in January.
Away from the Premier League, the Swede will also be absent for the bulk of a potential Carabao Cup campaign, and at least six of Spurs’ Champions League group games in their return to the competition.
