West Ham blur Kudus out of new pre-season picture as Tottenham make their move
Tottenham’s chase of Mohammed Kudus has continued to gather pace in recent days.
The Ghanaian forward is attracting interest from several of the Premier League’s top clubs, despite an uncharacteristically quiet season for West Ham last time out.
Spurs have emerged as the frontrunners to secure a deal, and they have already seen a bid of £50million for Kudus knocked back by their London rivals.
The Hammers are believed to be open to selling the 24-year-old for a fee in the region of £60m, although at this moment in time it remains unclear whether Tottenham will return to the negotiating table with an improved offer.

West Ham have blurred Kudus out of pre-season Instagram post
Spurs’ interest in Kudus has come as something of a surprise, given Daniel Levy’s fractious relationship with the hierarchy of the E20 outfit.
The Tottenham chief typically doesn’t do business with West Ham, but that seems destined to change as the Lilywhites continue to hone in on their latest target.
Graham Potter and Co. seem almost resigned to losing their star man, such is the level of interest, and the club have now dropped a likely hint as to Kudus’ future in a recent Instagram post.
Potter’s squad returned for pre-season on Monday (7 July), and they have since posted a series of photos on their Instagram page on Tuesday (8 July), handing fans a sneak peek inside the squad’s return to action.
In the final slide of the post, Kudus is blurred out in the foreground of a photo of Emerson, which is perhaps a telling sign from the club that his exit is imminent.
Spurs must commit to Kudus signing
Tottenham have been linked with countless big-money signings this summer, but Kudus is the link who has seemed to take real precedence over the last few weeks.
Season | Apps | Goals | Assists |
2024/25 | 35 | 5 | 4 |
2023/24 | 45 | 14 | 6 |
Total | 80 | 19 | 10 |
Levy is currently only a small margin away from matching West Ham’s valuation, and it should be a no-brainer for him to up his offering to get the deal done.
Spurs clearly have a very strong interest in the forward, and with that in mind, surely the matter of adding an extra £10m to their next bid is fairly insignificant for a club of their stature.
Champions League football will line the club’s pockets next term, and with potential sales also on the cards this summer, there should be no shortage of resources available for Levy to go out and secure their number one targets.
