Vicario called out after what he did in Tottenham defeat v Wolves – ‘My oh my’
Tottenham suffered their 17th league defeat of the season against Wolves on Sunday, with Guglielmo Vicario slammed for his involvement in the game.
Tottenham have nothing left to play for in the Premier League, and you could see that in what was yet another woeful display in a 4-2 defeat away to Wolves.
It’s the first time Wolves have scored more than two goals in a game all year, and had it not been for a number of instances of poor finishing, it could have been even more.
Ange Postecoglou will face the criticism for the defeat, but Vicario’s will have questions to answer in regard to his own display at Molineux.

Tottenham embarrass themselves against Wolves
Tottenham will have their main focus on the Europa League, though that will not excuse the performance that Spurs fans witnessed as their side fell to yet another league defeat in a campaign that has been full of misery.
Rayan Ait-Nouri, previously linked with Tottenham, scored the opener inside two minutes, before a Djed Spence own goal doubled their advantage, both of which were down to errors made by Vicario.
Wolves v Tottenham | Goals | xG | Shots | Possession |
Wolves | 4 | 2.44 | 13 | 38% |
Tottenham | 2 | 1.88 | 11 | 62% |
However, it was the goalkeeping on display for the second goal which left Efan Ekoku in disbelief when commentating via the world feed (13 April, 2:40pm).
He said: “My oh my, What’s happened there? Comedy of errors.
“Spence couldn’t do anything about it. He’s a yard away from his own goalkeeper. That’s a goalkeeping error. I mean, why is he throwing himself like that at the football? I don’t know. He’s got to do better than that. Spence… Yeah. Can’t blame him at all.”

Tottenham must part ways with Postecoglou
Tottenham have embarrassed themselves this season, and even if they find a way to win the Europa League, there isn’t a world in which Postecoglou has done enough to warrant staying in North London.
However, a defeat to Frankfurt would almost definitely end his tenure as Spurs boss, and very few would be overly upset about it given the misery many have endured throughout the current campaign.
Tottenham have a huge few months ahead if they are to find a way to progress on and off the pitch, and Postecoglou simply isn’t the man to spearhead those revival attempts.
