Tottenham v Liverpool postponement latest after Met Office update
Tottenham versus Liverpool is under no immediate threat of being postponed ahead of their EFL Cup clash on Wednesday following a new Met Office update.
The Met Office are predicting slight overcast before spells of sunny intervals on Tuesday (7 January), with clouds set to appear over Hotspur Way ahead of the clash on 8 January.
It appears that a 40 per cent chance of rain before the 8pm kick-off and 15mph wind are the only weather potentially putting fans off from attending, with no signs of a postponement.
The UK has been bruised and battered by horrendous weather conditions recently, with multiple matches called off on New Year’s Day, but Spurs look set to face the Reds in the EFL Cup semi-final.
Tottenham to battle Liverpool for spot in EFL Cup final
Postecoglou has a serious chance to prove himself in front of a frustrated Spurs fanbase, taking on the in-form Liverpool side in the EFL Cup, with a real shot at lifting silverware this season.
Many might view this as the best time to face Arne Slot’s team, given their 2-2 draw against Manchester United at Anfield on Sunday 5 January, but that result is likely to enrage them before the tie.
Some fans will also joke that a postponement would be the best thing for the Lilywhites, especially considering they are winless in four matches, including a 6-3 defeat to the Reds.
Postecoglou’s team were ripped apart when the two sides met in the Premier League last month, losing 6-3 in a nine-goal thriller, with Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah both netting braces.

If Spurs are to somehow grab the victory in North London, a final clash against Arsenal or Newcastle United awaits, which is just as difficult when aiming to lift silverware.
Of course, Postecoglou and his staff will just be focusing on the one game ahead of them, a tough clash against Liverpool, who will be hungry to fight back after a frustrating game against Man United.
