Tottenham v Liverpool: Antonin Kinsky in ‘nervous’ incident as pundit reacts

Antonin Kinsky left Michael Dawson nervous with his ball-playing ability for Tottenham against Liverpool on Wednesday.

Spurs went in at the break level against the Reds on 8 January with the new Czechia shot-stopper showing why Ange Postecoglou brought him in with some positive touches.

The 21-year-old did worry former captain Dawson live on Sky Sports Football (09:01pm), who suggested that the new signing was lucky during the first half.

He said: “A little bit fortunate here. I’ve been calling him ‘Kinky Kinsky’ but I was a bit nervous when that one, I was like here we go.”

For a young goalkeeper to make their debut against a side as good as Liverpool in a cup semi-final, the ex-Slavia Prague man did well.

Replacing the unlucky Brandon Austin, it is safe to say that the 2003-born keeper put in a positive performance which proved why he deserved a start.

There weren’t many occasions where the 21-year-old was forced into a save but was able to keep the Reds out throughout the 90 minutes.

Kinsky was also able to show off his ability with the ball at his feet which Fraser Forster has been slammed for in recent weeks.

It appears that, with this performance behind him, the Czech national will remain in between the sticks in North London.

Then Postecoglou will have a decision to make once Guglielmo Vicario recovers from his long-term injury which has ruled him out for many weeks.

Having the Italian back and competition in the shape of the ex-Slavia Prague shot-stopper can only be a positive thing based on his League Cup showing.
