Tottenham tracking Southampton midfield ace James Ward-Prowse – report
Tottenham are one of the teams tracking Southampton midfielder James Ward-Prowse, according to the Daily Mail.
Rob Draper wrote on the Mail Online that Ward-Prowse is likely to leave the St Mary’s Stadium following the Saints’ relegation from the Premier League.
Fulham and West Ham have both heavily linked with a move for the England midfielder throughout the window.

But Tottenham have also been credited with an interest in Ward-Prowse as Ange Postecoglou looks to shape his squad ahead of his first season in charge of the Premier League club.
Goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario and attacking midfielder James Maddison have already arrived from Empoli and Leicester City respectively, while Manor Solomon is close to completing a free transfer from Shakhtar Donetsk.

Others would surely need to leave first
There seems little doubt that James Ward-Prowse will depart Southampton this summer, with the Saints also set to cash in on Romeo Lavia too.
Links to West Ham and Fulham make a lot of sense, especially for the former who will need to strengthen their midfield once the sale of Declan Rice to Arsenal finally goes through.
Tottenham’s interest is a little less obvious at first glance. Maddison is a different type of player admittedly, but a little deeper – where Ward-Prowse would play – Spurs are a bit oversubscribed.
Rodrigo Bentancur, Oliver Skipp, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Giovani Lo Celso, Tanguy Ndombele and Yves Bissouma are all among the options currently in Spurs’ first team.
Admittedly, several of those players may find themselves surplus to requirements as the window moves on, but there is no doubt some players would need to leave to allow for the arrival of Ward-Prowse. For now, it looks like a case of what this space.
