Tottenham to ‘pay the price’ v Arsenal after what Carragher has seen

Tottenham will be at the receiving end of a thrashing against Arsenal in the North London derby on Wednesday, according to Jamie Carragher.

Assessing the Premier League clash at the Emirates Stadium on 15 January, Carragher pointed out that the Gunners have been on a “bad run” due to their inability to convert enough chances.

The Sky Sports pundit, who understands why Ange Postecoglou never changes his strategies, believes that will change when Mikel Arteta’s side lock horns with their arch-rivals this week and predicted a 3-0 result in favour of the hosts.

“Arsenal are on a bad run but have been creating plenty of chances”, Carragher told Sky Sports’ Super Six.

“They can keep missing them and I feel Tottenham will be the ones who pay the price.”

Tottenham to prove Jamie Carragher wrong v Arsenal

It is hard to predict things in football, but there are high chances that Spurs prove Carragher wrong against Arsenal.

Yes, Postecoglou’s side are on a poor run of form in the Premier League, having lost three and drawn one of their last four games.

However, they have since earned a 1-0 victory over Liverpool in the EFL Cup semi-final.

While Postecoglou’s Tottenham have often been criticised for not keeping their backline intact, they showed what they are capable of against the Reds last Wednesday, 8 January.

They followed up that result with a 3-0 FA Cup victory over Tamworth on Sunday, 13 January.

Arsenal, meanwhile, failed to beat a 10-man Manchester United in the FA Cup, losing 3-5 in penalties at home.

Although Arteta and co will look to make use of their home advantage to beat Tottenham, Postecoglou’s men are more than capable of causing an upset at the Emirates.
