Tottenham team news v Brentford – Postecoglou announces crushing new blow

Radu Dragusin will miss the Premier League clash between Tottenham and Brentford on Sunday, confirms Ange Postecoglou.

Spurs are set to travel to the GTECH Community Stadium on 2 February with a view to getting back on track domestically after a 3-0 win in the Europa League.

The Romania international is set to miss the game in West London after going off after twisting his knee against Elfsborg on Thursday (30 January).

The Lilywhites will also be without the likes of James Maddison, Timo Werner, Dominic Solanke, Destiny Udogie and Cristian Romero through injury.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference on 31 January, transcribed by Football London, Postecoglou said: “Still not sure, we’ll let it settle down and get more information over the weekend.

“He’s [Dragusin] obviously not available for this weekend. In terms of others, Djed Spence should be available for the weekend and Sergio Reguilon should be ok.

“Every time I think I see the light at the end of the tunnel it turns out to be an oncoming train.”

Tottenham must turn up against Brentford

Everyone knows the injury issues that the Australian head coach is dealing with in North London but his side still needs to pick up their performance level.

The defeat against Leicester City was far from good enough and as a result, going into the clash against Thomas Frank’s side, the showing has to be much improved.

This will be a tough task given how good the Bees have been at home so far this season, but Spurs can’t let that knowledge impact them.

If the Lilywhites fall to another frustrating result it could be the final curtain for Postecoglou who is continuing to come under massive pressure at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
