Tottenham have recently sent scouts to watch Feyenoord striker Santiago Gimenez, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, via CaughtOffside.

Speaking via his weekly podcast The Debrief (30 October), Romano revealed that Spurs "appreciate" Gimenez and are "keeping their eye on the player".

He also revealed that many clubs are interested in the 22-year-old and that a fee of somewhere between £39-43million should be enough to land the Mexico international.

Gimenez has scored 15 goals in 12 appearances for Feyenoord this season, with the club currently sitting fourth in the Eredivisie.

Ex-Spurs scout Bryan King told Tottenham News:

"This is an interesting link. However, he isn't worth the kind of money being mentioned at the moment because he is not the finished article.

"He is doing well in the Netherlands, however, he still lacks a bit of pace and certainly physicality. He is a work in progress, he wouldn't be able to come in and score goals at the rate of Son Heung-min, for example.

Spurs

"He is an interesting player and would certainly be one for the future, therefore it comes down to how much Tottenham would be willing to pay for the future. He would be a good squad player, but he has got work to do in order to become a top player.

"I would personally say he is worth between £25-30million. However, in this day and age, and in this market, players are worth a lot more."
