Tottenham relegation odds plummet after shock development

The odds for Tottenham to be relegated have plummeted after a shock defeat away at Everton.

The Lilywhites travelled to Goodison Park on Sunday (19 January) and lost the game 3-2, despite two late goals, which leaves them sitting 15th in the Premier League and eight points clear of the relegation zone.

As a result of losing to another struggling side in Everton, Bet365 have slashed the odds on Tottenham to be relegated to 50/1 despite the odds being 250/1 on Sunday morning.

Tottenham need to improve their form

Spurs have faced some difficulty this term, especially with injuries which has left Ange Postecoglou’s side struggling at times.

However, with the quality they have throughout their squad, there is no excuse for the Lilywhites to be as low as they are in the table and certainly not getting as close as they are to the relegation zone in the top flight.

Going into the game against Tottenham, Everton has picked up just three wins throughout the campaign which shows the magnitude of the result as the Toffees put in a display that was worthy of the three points.

Luckily for the North London outfit, there are a number of sides at the bottom of the table who are struggling more and are likely to stay below them in the table until the end of the season.

However, these slashed odds are a reflection of how bad things are and the result against the Blues will certainly leave questions over the future of Postecoglou at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
