Tottenham protest gatecrashed by ‘Levy In’ banner, confrontation follows – Watch
Tottenham fans protested against chairman Daniel Levy ahead of their 1-0 Premier League win over Manchester United on Sunday.
The Spurs chief is an extremely controversial figure and supporters took to the streets outside the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to criticise him before kick-off against the Red Devils.
It was expected to be a peaceful occasion as fans vented their frustrations about the way the 63-year-old supremo runs the North London outfit.
However, scenes turned ugly after a clash between fans who are on rival sides of the Levy debate.
Tottenham protest gatecrashed, confrontation follows
The ‘Levy Out’ protest was gatecrashed by a fan with a ‘Levy In’ banner which led to chaotic scenes outside the stadium.
In footage shared on X, a protester can be seen chasing the man and snatching the banner out of his hands sparking confrontation.
Despite a positive result, it will do little to swell the divide in the fanbase with the latest scenes showing that supporters are split on the issue.
Tottenham board deserve criticism
The board at the North London club needs to do something to sort the clashes within the fanbase.
Sacking Ange Postecoglou is a solution, the former Celtic man is under severe pressure in the dugout but the issues facing the Lilywhites are not all his doing.
The Australian can be blamed for refusing to abandon his tactical principles during a brutal injury crisis and perhaps his training methods have contributed to the level of absences.
Look at this mug with a LEVY IN banner! 🤦🏻♂️😂

Can’t believe what I’ve just seen. Quickly got snatched by another fan 😂#LEVYOUT #ENICOUT pic.twitter.com/UYVdDffBOT
However, Levy and the rest of the ownership did not back him until the latter stages of the winter transfer window despite the state of the squad at his disposal.
The problem goes deeper than the manager, the ENIC group have invested a minimal amount in the playing squad despite moving to a state-of-the-art new stadium and training ground and it is catching up with them.
If the issues continue it is hard to see how Levy can continue in his role in N17 for much longer as fan discontent will only increase the longer Spurs languish without a trophy and in the bottom half of the Premier League table.
