Tottenham pressure gets to Postecoglou as he cracks – ‘It’s hard not to laugh’
Ange Postecoglou is under major pressure at Tottenham as speculation on his future refuses to go away.
The Australian has endured a miserable campaign as his side have struggled, finding themselves in the bottom half of the Premier League and eliminated from both domestic cups.
The former Celtic man has a chance to end Spurs’ 17-year trophy drought with the Europa League but given the toxic atmosphere surrounding the North London club, it may not be enough to save his job.

Postecoglou cracks under the pressure again
Postecoglou has lost his cool on several occasions already and the latest scandal at Spurs may only make things worse for the Australian.
The 59-year-old has hit back at supporters numerous times in very public rows but the latest thing to set him off is a supposed leak amongst his staff.
Reports emerged on Thursday (10 April) that Wilson Odobert was set for a spell on the sidelines but he was subsequently named in the squad.
Postecoglou believes that he is close to identifying the ‘mole’ but Andy Dunn thinks that the carry on from the beleaguered manager is pathetic.
In a column in the Sunday People (13 April, page 48), he said: “It is hard not to laugh.
“Postecoglou’s team have won 21 of 49 matches they have played this season. They have lost 16 Premier League games and sit closer to the bottom three than to the top three.
“And Postecoglou is worried about someone leaking minor tidbits about a striker who seldom scores and few people outside of North London have even heard of? Safe to say the pressure is getting to Ange.”

Tottenham may have to sack Postecoglou soon
The pressure seems to be getting too much for the former Australia international as he has snapped on multiple occasions in recent weeks.
The Lilywhites boss annoyed his own fans when Pape Matar Sarr scored a disallowed goal against Chelsea (3 April) and he cupped his ears towards supporters in the stadium.
Opponent | Result |
Bournemouth | 2-2 (D) |
AZ Alkmaar | 3-1 (W) |
Fulham | 2-0 (L) |
Chelsea | 1-0 (L) |
Southampton | 3-1 (W) |
Frankfurt | 1-1 (D) |
He has also launched rants about VAR and supporters putting phones in his face trying to goad a reaction, which are all parts of the modern game that he needs to accept.
Perhaps, the biggest sign that he is crumbling is the argument that he made earlier this week when he said that everything that the N17 outfit do is seen from a negative perspective, maybe, it is because they have had a terrible season and there is not much positivity around the club right now.
The leak is annoying but it is far from the biggest problem facing the troubled former defender and he should focus on fixing his relationship with the fans and results on the pitch before Daniel Levy puts him out of his misery.
