Tottenham player ratings v Bournemouth – Son impacts in 7/10, 4/10 flops
Tottenham rescued a point with a 2-2 draw against Bournemouth in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
Ange Postecoglou’s side struggled again, going behind after Marcus Tavernier slammed home just before half time, with Evanilson doubling that lead in the second half.
A freak cross-turned-goal by Pape Matar Sarr in the 67th minute before a Son Hueng-min penalty meant a point for both sides.

Here, Tottenham News rates each Spurs player’s performance out of 10.
Guglielmo Vicario – 5
The goalkeeper did make several saves in the first half, which kept his side in the game, but he conceded two goals and his distribution was far from solid throughout.
Pedro Porro (off for Destiny Udogie, 87′) – 5
The defender was responsible for creating the most chances in the first half of the game, but he also lost the majority of his duels, as the Cherries ran riot at times.
Cristian Romero (off for Micky Van der Ven, 61′) – 5
Romero made just four defensive actions on the afternoon and his passing was awful as he finally returned to starting Premier League action. He has to improve quickly.
Kevin Danso – 5
Danso produced seven clearances for his side in the game but lost the majority of his duels, which is not good enough. The 26-year-old also found himself caught in no man’s land for Bournemouth’s second goal.
Djed Spence – 4
Spence was not up to his level against Bournemouth. The defender got caught out at the back post for Bournemouth’s first goal and was poor again in the Cherries’ disallowed goal too. Having lost six of his seven duels, he failed to perform to his top standard at the back.

Rodrigo Bentancur (for James Maddison, 61′) – 6
Bentancur had seven passes into the final third as he tried to create something for his side but was brought off after 61 minutes as the boss tried to change things, picking up his usual booking before.
Yves Bissouma (off for Lucas Bergvall, 46′) – 5
Bissouma completed the most passes of any player in the first half of the game but failed to create anything that could help his side going forward, leading Postecoglou to yank him off at half-time.
Pape Matar Sarr – 7
It took a bit of time for Sarr to get into the game and when he put a big chance wide, it looked as though it could be a painful afternoon. However, a lucky goal put his side back into the action, even if it was a fluke.
Brennan Johnson disappoints
Brennan Johnson (off for Son Hueng-min, 46′) – 4
Johnson had just 29 touches of the ball, resulting in him being taken off at half-time by his manager. Having lost six of his eight duels, he certainly did not show enough to suggest he would be the one to turn things around.
Dominic Solanke – 5
With just 32 touches of the ball, three of which were in the opposition box, the striker did not create enough for Tottenham against Bournemouth. It is clear that he is not yet back to his best after injury.

Wilson Odobert struggles to get into the game
Wilson Odobert – 4
The 19-year-old did not do too much wrong but struggled to get into the game with just one shot that wasn’t on target.
Substitutions
Lucas Bergvall (on for Yves Bissouma, 46′) – 7
Bergvall proved to be a positive substitution after having a night to forget in the Europa League in the week. The midfielder helped his side push forward and certainly got them back into the game, nearly scoring a screamer from distance.
Son Hueng-min (on for Brennan Johnson, 46′) – 7
Son hasn’t had the season he would’ve hoped for this term but proved to be a positive influence when he came on. It may have been a penalty but Son will hope that his goal will give him a bit of momentum going forward.
James Maddison (on for Rodrigo Bentancur, 61′) – 5
Maddison came on and had 23 touches of the ball, which perhaps highlights the fact he just didn’t get into the game heavily, which is disappointing for a player of his level.
Micky Van der Ven (on for Cristian Romero, 61′) – 6
You couldn’t expect too much from Van der Ven on his return from injury but he didn’t put a foot wrong and will hopefully be ready for more minutes now.
Destiny Udogie (on for Pedro Porro, 87′) – N/A
