Tottenham now in advanced talks to sign Fikayo Tomori – Di Marzio

Tottenham are in advanced talks to sign AC Milan defender Fikayo Tomori, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

Ange Postecoglou looks to be in need of a new defender after an injury blow to Radu Drăgușin.

In addition, it doesn’t seem as though Cristian Romero is any closer to making a return from an injury issue of his own in North London.

Therefore, it appears as though Spurs are looking to sign cover, with Di Marzio writing via X (31 January), “AC Milan’s negotiations are at an advanced stage with Tottenham for Tomori.”

Tottenham to sign AC Milan centre-back Fikayo Tomori?

Tottenham have lost an unprecedented amount of players to injury this season, with this particular crisis well-documented in North London.

However, it is in defence where they have been hit the worst, with Micky van de Ven, Cristian Romero, Destiny Udogie, Guglielmo Vicario, Ben Davies and now Drăgușin all spending time on the sidelines at one point or another.

Van de Ven returned in the 3-0 UEFA Europa League win over IF Elfsborg at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Thursday (30 January), although some fans were not happy with Postecoglou’s decision to start the Dutchman.

However, with Romero no closer to returning and the extent of Drăgușin’s injury unknown, a new defender is definitely still needed.

Therefore, fans will likely be pleased that Tomori looks to be close to joining the club.
