Tottenham next manager: Rafa Benitez shock emerges amid Postecoglou sack latest
Tottenham could appoint Rafael Benitez to replace Ange Postecoglou as scrutiny continues to rise in North London.
The Australian relieved some pressure surrounding his future in the dugout with a 1-0 win over Manchester United on Sunday (16 February).
However, Daniel Levy could be forced to sack the former Celtic man if that result does not spark a revival in the final stages of the campaign.
If the board decides to take the Lilywhites in a new direction, the former Reds boss is in the running to take over at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Benitez now in contention to replace Postecoglou as odds crash
Former Liverpool manager Benitez has emerged as a shock contender to replace Postecoglou in N17, according to the latest bookmakers odds.
The legendary figure is currently 12/1 with Bet Victor to be the next permanent Lilywhites boss.
Ex-Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is the 7/2 favourite with Andoni Iraola and Thomas Frank second favorites at 4/1.

Tottenham should not hire Benitez
The Spaniard is mostly known for a remarkable Champions League final victory with the Merseysiders in which his side came back from 3-0 down against a star-studded AC Milan team.
He also led Valencia to the La Liga title twice and two Champions League finals where they lost to Real Madrid in 2000 and Bayern Munich in 2001 respectively.
However, his best days are far behind him with his last trophy being the Championship title with Newcastle in the 2016-17 season.

Stints at Dalian Professional in China, Everton and Celta Vigo have not been successful and Benitez would be seen as a temporary fix if he was appointed at Spurs.
That is not what the North London club needs, they need to either back Postecoglou through the hard times and hope he can turn the situation around or replace him with an up-and-coming manager with a lot of potential like Iraola or Frank.
A firefighter, like what Benitez has become would be a backward step and the N17 outfit cannot afford that right now as they sit in 12th position in the Premier League and have been eliminated from both domestic cups.
