Tottenham new manager: Marco Silva accepts proposal already

Tottenham are looking increasingly likely to be in the market for a new manager in the summer.

Ange Postecoglou has had a disastrous domestic campaign, with his Tottenham side somehow currently sitting 16th in the Premier League table.

However, with one game separating them from the final of the Europa League, the Australian is safe in his role for now.

The likes of Marco Silva and Andoni Iraola have been linked with a permanent move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, should Daniel Levy choose to part ways with Postecoglou.

Silva accepts managerial proposal

The outcome of the Europa League could well have a big part to play in the immediate future of Postecoglou, although with Premier League form continuing to disappoint, things are looking more and more inevitable.

If Levy is going to make a call to bring in a change in north London, he has to be prepared to do so with some speed in preparation for the summer transfer window.

Tottenham have been poor this season.

Even with a managerial change, there will have to be additions on the pitch if the Lilywhites want to aim for a more successful season next term.

By the time the summer comes around, though, Silva may no longer be available as a potential option.

Saudi journalist A Alhanyan has reported that the management of Al-Hilal have received the approval of Silva over a recent proposal.

Therefore, a deal could officially become contracted soon if they miss out on their unnamed top option.

Levy has to make bold managerial call

It’s understandable why Levy is keeping Postecoglou in his role for the time being, with European football still all to play for.

However, even if the trophy was won and Champions League football was secured, surely the boss hasn’t done enough to warrant being given any time to turn things around at Spurs next season.

When you consider the conditions under which Levy dismissed managers in the past, the Australian has certainly been given plenty of grace so far.

That being said, if Levy is serious about seeing things improve at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium next season, then he must be prepared to make a big call at the right time to put his side in the best possible shape.

If the chief waits until the start of next term, it will be a wasted window and although Silva may be an option that is off the table, there are still plenty of possibilities to turn to.
