Tottenham new manager: Insider issues update on Marco Silva links
Tottenham insider Paul O Keefe has delivered his verdict on links to Fulham manager Marco Silva.
Despite being in the Europa League quarter-finals, their domestic form has led to questions being asked of Ange Postecoglou.
The North London outfit are currently in 14th place in the Premier League and have already lost 15 games.

Spurs links to Marco Silva are surprising – Paul O Keefe
O Keefe reacted to the recent odds surrounding the new permanent manager.
Spurs have made their decision not to sack Postecoglou, for the time being, but a lot of that hinges on the Europa League.
Should they fail to win silverware, there is every chance that the hierarchy decide it’s time to part ways with the Australian.
The bookies have a five-way split at 11/2 for the next manager with Andoni Iraola, Mauricio Pochettino, Kieran McKenna and Thomas Frank the other names included along with Silva.
However, O Keefe is not impressed with Silva’s credentials given his stints at Everton and Watford.
He wrote on X: “On Silva are people just happy to ignore he left Everton in 18th place having manoeuvred his way to a sacking so he could take the job at Everton in the first place. Surprised he has such credence.”
Daniel Levy must look to bring Andoni Iraola to Tottenham
Andoni Iraola offers Tottenham a superior fit compared to Marco Silva due to his dynamic, high-pressing style aligning seamlessly with Spurs’ aspirations for attacking, progressive football.
At Bournemouth, Iraola has transformed a modest squad into a European contender by 2025, showcasing tactical adaptability and a knack for maximising player potential, evident in his work with Dominic Solanke.
Stats (Premier League 2024/25) | Postecoglou | Iraola |
Wins | 10 | 13 |
Draws | 4 | 8 |
Losses | 14 | 9 |
Points | 34 | 47 |
Points per match | 1.21 | 1.57 |
Daniel Levy has to make him the frontrunner if the decision is made to change managers.
Silva, while impressive at Fulham, leans toward pragmatism, with a mixed history at Everton and Watford that raises doubts about scaling to Spurs’ ambitions.
Iraola’s upward trajectory, youth and interest in the Tottenham job, make him the bolder, future-proof choice to elevate Spurs beyond their current 14th-place slump.
