Tottenham: Micky van de Ven set to undergo hamstring scan, could face months out – report
Tottenham face an anxious wait over the scan results of defender Micky van de Ven and there are fears he could face months out of action, according to the Daily Mail.
The newspaper, reporting via their website on 8 November, reports that definitive assessments are not generally made until 48 to 72 hours after the injury blow has been suffered which leaves Spurs and Ange Postecoglou in an anxious wait.
The Dutch international worryingly pulled up in agony during the first half of Monday’s enthralling 4-1 loss to Chelsea and Postecoglou admitted that it could be a “significant” absence for the summer signing.

Van de Ven will undergo crucial tests over the next couple of days as the club medics ascertain the exact extent of the damage suffered, according to the report.
If the problem is more severe than a grade two hamstring tear then the Dutchman is likely to miss the rest of 2023 and may even need surgery which comes a cruel blow for the Australian coach whose high defensive line has proven a rapid success with van de Ven at the heart of it.
Striker Richarlison could be set for a period on the sidelines too after struggling in recent months with a pelvic injury and is set to undergo surgery, while there are also fears James Maddison could be out of action after he was also forced off against Chelsea.

Ex-Spurs right-back Alan Hutton told Tottenham News:
“Look, I think Maddison and van de Ven are incredibly essential and it does come at a terrible time,” said Hutton.
“I think van de Ven actually makes Cristian Romero a better footballer; I think the two of them play really well together.
“But, you see the highmline that they play, they need pace and those two centre-backs have it in abundance so for him to pull up the way he did, he must have done a lot of high intense running obviously from that high defensive area.
“That looks like a bad one for me, it looks like he could be out for months, not weeks so that’s not ideal, obviously losing Romero is not ideal either.”
In other Tottenham news, one player has admitted to “bad tackles” after the club’s defeat to Chelsea.
