Lucas Bergvall reacts as fresh Tottenham injury revealed on social media
Tottenham have been rocked by yet more injury issues.
Spurs are enduring a notably challenging campaign in the Premier League, and sit just 13th in the table following their 1-0 loss at home to Manchester City on Wednesday, 26 February.
The North London side’s campaign has been plagued by a series of notable injuries suffered by the likes of summer arrival and striker Dominic Solanke as well as defensive duo Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven.
But even with those mitigating factors in mind, Tottenham supporters are disappointed with their side’s current league position, and have shown dissent towards club owner Daniel Levy this campaign.
The Europa League presents Ange Postecoglou’s men with their only chance of winning silverware this season, after Spurs faced a 4-0 League Cup semi-final second leg defeat to Liverpool last month.
Postecoglou’s side were knocked out of the FA Cup, via a 2-1 defeat by Aston Villa just three days on from suffering their 4-0 loss to the Reds.

Lucas Bergvall responds to fellow Sweden international’s injury
Tottenham’s injury problems have seemingly taken a significant turn for the worse, after Lucas Bergvall’s fellow Sweden international Dejan Kulusevski shared an Instagram post showing he is currently wearing a protective boot.
Bergvall is one of Kulusevski’s Spurs teammates who responded to the post with a like, along with the likes of former Everton forward Richarlison, who is currently suffering from an injury of his own.
Kulusevski reveal is a major blow for Tottenham
As previously mentioned, the Europa League is the only trophy Tottenham can still win this season, and they are set to take on AZ Alkmaar in the Netherlands on Thursday for the first leg of their Round of 16 tie.
Heading into that clash without Kulusevski is a major blow to Spurs’ chances of progressing to the quarter finals, where either Ajax or German Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt would await them.
Dejan Kulusevski stats | 2024/25 all competitions |
Appearances | 42 |
Goals | 10 |
Assists | 10 |
Kulusevski has been a key asset for Tottenham ever since his arrival, initially on loan, from Serie A giants Juventus back in January 2022.
This term, the Sweden international has arguably proved more vital for Postecoglou and co than ever before, as he has often expertly plied his trade in a previously unfamiliar central midfield role.
Kulusevski has scored 10 goals as well as making 10 assists across all competitions this term, and he has made three of those goal contributions in eight Europa League appearances.
