Tottenham leaks: Ex-England coach in ‘modern’ verdict amid Postecoglou bombshell
Ange Postecoglou has revealed his belief of a leak within the Tottenham camp this season.
The Australian head coach wasn’t holding back on Friday (11 April) when he spoke out of information being let out by a source on Hotspur Way.
This came after reports of an injury to Wilson Odobert emerged ahead of the Lilywhites’ Europa League clash on Thursday (10 April).
Postecoglou’s comments have come as a shock to many, with a former England coach now sharing their verdict of how this is happening in North London.

Dave Watson shares Tottenham leak admission
It has been a troubled season for Spurs as they continue to struggle in the Premier League, most recently losing 4-2 to Wolves.
This left the N17 outfit 15th in the table with just six games to go, which sums up the problems that the ex-Celtic boss has faced.
Position | Club | Games played | Tottenham | Points |
15. | Tottenham | 32 | +11 | 37 |
16. | Wolves | 32 | -14 | 35 |
17. | West Ham | 32 | -18 | 35 |
It seems clear that issues behind the scenes have had a damming impact on his side as “leaks” could be causing a sour dressing room atmosphere at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Postecoglou seems to be baffled by this and believes it is making things more difficult for himself, his staff and his players.
The Australian remains unsure about how this is happening, but former England and Southampton goalkeeper coach Watson has revealed how it may work based on his experiences.
Speaking on the Football Fill-In (15 April), he said: “For me, at various clubs throughout my career there might have been someone very rarely coming out with information that shouldn’t be there but predominantly in these situations, over my vast experience of it, the team is usually picked at the final team meeting.
“If you’re dropped, the normal process would be to phone my family to say, ‘You won’t need tickets because I’m not playing.’
“But the modern player doesn’t work like that, as soon as he comes out of the team meeting, agent on the phone, ‘Manager’s dropped me.’ Agent says, ‘I know what we’ll do.’ And before anyone’s even left the training ground, the story is out there. That is the modern way.”
Tottenham must remove poison atmosphere
It has all gone wrong for the Lilywhites this season, and this “leak” is just further proof of why things continue to get worse.
The atmosphere around the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has been poor as supporters continue to grow frustrated with Daniel Levy and Postecoglou in N17.
If the Australian is to avoid the sack, his number one job ahead of the new campaign has to be to build an air of positivity around the North London outfit.
This will require him to remove the leak within the camp and allow for his best players, like Son Heung-min, to prove themselves and show their class.
